Interested in understanding how and what we can create together, I co-founded different collectives as “labs” where empirically test co-creation between different persons and disciplines.

S'ODINONSUONARE

S’odinonsuonare is an italian performance collective started in 2010 by Alessio Mazzaro and Marco Campana. It works between Sound art, performance and interaction design. It questions and investigates the use of technology in performance and the role of the spectator as a witness or performer.

Supported by MiBAC, the Italy’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage, as winner of DEMO/Movin Up 2013, it was in residency at STEIM in Amsterdam, where it started Flex, a project about suitable movement sensors for dancers. In 2015  it was in Canada and Michigan invited by the artist Gordon Monahan and supported by The Italian Cultural Institute of Toronto. Flex, in 2016 during two residences at TempoReale and SpazioK, was developed in the performance “How we deal with technology”. S’odinonsuonare shown its projects at Eastern Bloc (CA), Popps Packing (MI, USA), STEIM (ND), Museum Musil, ArtVerona2012, Spazio Pelodrilli and in some performance and electro music festivals as the Path Festival and Electric Eclectics Festival (CA).

Alessio Mazzaro, Elisa D’Amico and Francesco Dalmasso collaboration started in the end of 2015 from the willingness to work together, despite living in different places in Europe. For this reason, they developed their projects in a way that made them possible, using video conference and streaming softwares. They got together mainly to solve a practical need of sharing thoughts and starting a common dialogue on research methods through (but not only) the body. Live streaming cinema, distance performance and analogies between choreographic writing and composition practices in other languages, are the topics of their research together.

// Couchscore – a distance investigation on writing and transmitting scores, is their first work.

Collettivo IN

Collettivo IN was a project created in 2010 by Alessio Mazzaro in collaboration with the Architect Fabrizio Masiero, to investigate the artists’ need of space in the North-East Italy and the increasing phenomenon of re-using industrial building for cultural purposes. The historian Moira Pegoraro and the graphic designers Tommaso Ciato and Amedeo Gheller, joined the collective to help developing the piece “Da Venezia a Drò”, a reportage made of articles and interviews, that later became a map collecting all the spaces discovered during the research. The map was presented within the section “Independents” of the fair ArtVerona 2012, supported by OperaEstate Festival and Centrale Fies.
